We would like to extend an invite for you to visit the Islandreagh Estate, Dunadry, featuring former Beetling Mill and Dye Works on Saturday 8th September at 9.30am. The Mill and its stunning surroundings are open to the Public for 1 day only as part of the European Heritage Open Day 2018 in conjunction with the DfC.

There will be a guided walk around the Estate at 10am where you can take in:
• The Listed Railway Bridge, designed and engineered by John Lanyon circa 1860.
• The Stunning Grade B1 Listed Mill Buildings and Beetling Sheds.
• An extensive selection of Trees and Fauna, including the only place in Ireland to see the River Water Crowfoot (http://www.habitas.org.uk/priority/species.asp?item=2725).
• The old Mill Race & Turbines which have been restored to working order, see them in action.
• The only site in Northern Ireland where 8 different species of bats call home, hear them in some of the old Tree Trunks.
• If your very lucky, the elusive river otter has also been known to make an appearance on the banks of the Six Mile River.

Feel free to extend this invite to any of your pupils/friends/colleagues or members and if you are planning to attend, or have any questions, can you please rsvp to Richard.Lutton@karl.co.uk by the 5th of September.
