“Parkgate Together”

Volunteers Required – Covid-19 Outbreak

At times like this we need to do all we can to help each other, which is why the Parkgate & District Community Group supported by the 1st Donegore Church have come together to support our Community by providing assistance for our elderly friends and neighbours and those who are most vulnerable.

We understand these are difficult times and that some of you are already helping in your area which is fantastic. We are planning on providing TWO phone numbers that those in the Community can call in order to get assistance.

SPAR (Parkgate) & 1st Donegore Church (Manse)

We need to build a list of volunteers who are willing to help in their area such as; Main Street, The Chase/Langtry, Grange, Hollybank, Connor Road, Moyadam, Greenview, Paradise, Ballywee, Kensingvale, Parkgate Meadows and other locations in the local surrounding area.

Both the Spar and 1st Donegore will have access to ONE list of Volunteers (gathered from this call for help) by area, who can help with;

  1. Phone calls of support to make sure everything is OK
  2. Supply of essential provisions by collecting prescriptions or shopping for neighbours

Once we have the ONE list, a card will be produced and advertised on social media and dropped into households (with the TWO numbers above only – NOT contact details of Volunteers)

If you are willing to volunteer in your area to help, please either;

a. Send an email to community@parkgate.org.uk (name, area, contact details)
b. Private Message ‘Parkgate & District Community Group’ via Facebook (link here) (name, area, contact details)
c. Phone 1st Donegore (Manse) 028 94432376 and leave your details (name, area, contact details)
d. Phone SPAR on 028 94433178 and leave your details (name, area, contact details)

For security reasons all volunteers will be verified to build trust before being asked to help neighbours. Volunteers will be provided with some guidelines.

We would hope to have things established as soon as practical.
